A friend and I travelled to Utila Lodge for a week of diving and relaxation (a birthday gift to me from my wife). While our trip to Honduras was an adventure (flight delays, lost baggage, etc) the folks at the lodge were very welcoming and accommodating. Miss Kisty the owner, Queen Ann the head mistress, Seth the captain, Dave the divemaster and all the staff went out of their way to make our stay pleasant and interesting. The lodge is built on stilts over the water and the effect is great with the lapping water making for a soothing background. The food in the dining room is as you would find at home and the bar very relaxed and, at times, on the honour system. The local life is as laid-back as an island can get with several small restaurants and watering holes. The diving is wonderful – the aquatic life varied and coral reefs incredible. The lodge is fully equipped and can handle any request and potential emergencies.
Thanks to all for a very memorable trip.
