My boyfriend and I had the most wonderful week at the Utila Lodge. The moment we arrived we were treated like royalty by Kisty, Queen Anne and the rest of the staff. Josh, our dive master and Seth (aka Marvin/Borat) were wonderful and gave us their undivided attention. The lodge has a very “homey” atmosphere. They serve delicious homemade meals 3 times a day. We looked forward to hearing our meal bell ringing because we knew it wouldn’t be long before we could enjoy the delicious food. The main transportation on the island are golf carts and motorcycles. Josh and Seth gave us a motorcycle ride to their favorite barbecue place the last night we were there. That was quite an experience considering it was also raining…haha! The dock is really nice and is set up so that you can sit and watch the boats and activity going on around you…including the GORGEOUS sunsets! The rooms are very homey. Each room has its own screen porch with a hammock which was very comfy to relax on. We had a problem with our shower and within an hour the maintenance man came and replaced the shower head! That’s what you call service! We also had the best air conditioning system in our room. The policy is to turn it off when you’re going to be gone for a long time and at first we thought that might be a problem however the air conditioner was so efficient that the room cooled down within minutes. And who likes to come into a cold room when you’re all wet after diving all day anyway? We loved that Kisty and Queen Anne would sit down and eat with us. It was great getting to know them. We loved that the lodge was right in town so it made it easy to explore around the area. We sure hope we get a chance to visit Utila Lodge again some time soon. We miss everyone there!
